John/ (somewhat off-topic) - I realize UIC is currently beginning to move into SCADA applications within Cdn. oilpatch with at least one large producer. I also realize your co. has dedicated a guy to hopefully realize more sales within the gas side of the oilpatch.

Today PoCo released annual numbers newswire.ca and followed the release up with a conference call.

"A taped rebroadcast of the call will be available to listeners for two business days beginning Thursday, February 19, 1998 at 4:30 p.m. MST, 6:30 p.m. EST. To listen to the rebroadcast, please call 1-800-558-5253 and provide the following reservation number 807228."

General spin was rosy for the gas part of the patch. Things like "strong gas markets are on the way" and general high hopes for 1998 were said. PoCo is obviously biased, something like 73% of their production volumes are related to natural gas activity.

Anyways, do you have any views re: forward looking stuff related to Cdn. natural gas issues? What are you hearing related to general producers, etc. as Unitec attempts to grow within the oilpatch?

My general wonder is if there's possibly too much of a consensus happening? It just seems too easy...........

Apologies John for the length of this ramble and that it doesn't specifically focus on a "Unitec" issue however I am interested in any general oilpatch perspective that insiders are hearing and thinking.
