By: A_day_ahead Date: Feb 13 1998 6:15 A.M PST Reply To: Msg. 594 by robertlog I'm a LAN/WAN network manager, I handle the routers, CSU/DSUs, modems etc. I use the PAIRGAIN T-1 Campus equipment to expand my WAN over some of the nastiest telco cable. PAIRs's HDSL is the best thing since sliced bread. I drop in a T-1 line, program a couple of PAIRGAINs in 5 minutes, slap on a router and have another LAN leg up in an hour or less (I'm not bragging its the beauty of the equipment). If I was in a little town in Seattle I'd contact PAIR to see what they could provide me....heck I'd buy my own set, take one over to my telco and plug it in....I wouldn't wait. Your comment on ISDN is correct they waited too long in many places to finally get it going....<on cable modems>. A friend of mine in Hawaii says he gets 7 to 10 Mb line, unlimited time, from "Road Runner" for $40 a month.....now that's a deal!!! ralph
