One thing people are slow to grasp is the higher margins of software companies. These are the mega caps in our indices, and they have near 50% profit margins and double digit growth. This is not something we saw with the mega caps in the 70's and 80's. Software is eating the world in more ways than one. The margins for software companies are 10x-15x those of the old rust belt companies back in the day. Megacap software margins are also sticky from my own experience.
