It is complicated for you I'm sure. When you cannot get a jury to agree on what happened, you can't really claim the worst of the charges happened. And standards of evidence as well a lowered standard of finding the defendant responsible (not guilty, in any case) is put out solely to confuse the public and cause harm to the defendant because nothing else will do. They couldn't get him for any crime, they went after him for money and found a judge who would break the rules to hit him for 100M.
