The Russians are the ones who have experience with long space missions. When I visited Vienna in '92, they had the Mir shakedown unit (a full-size, working copy) on display. I paid my $20 and did a walk-through. Not to abuse the metaphor, but yours truly (who tops 6 feet in height) was bent over the whole way. Mir is a small, cramped environment Sorta like the smallest Habitrail you can buy. I don't think there was a shower. Well, spend a long winter cooped up with your good buddy Oleg in a space smaller than the avg. USA prison cell, and your standards as to what constitutes a "good time" undergo a bit of evolution. I'm sherr those boys ended up drilling the "docking maneuver" once or twice.
If you've seen the pix of the chix who wore Russian Kevlar, you'd probably pick Oleg too. If you were a guy. Nothing queer about it, just. endless. boredom. And a GameBoy Pocket.

Christine:

Regarding the reports on sunscreens and wine released today:

In the quest for immortality,
I know not what to think.
It seems the answer is,
I should stay inside and drink.
