This appears to be a major point of disbelief among the religous followers of UNIX. NT is popular because it gives more bang per dollar. Regardless of what standards bodies you have put in place, standards bodies don't buy software, the market does. This is strength for MSFT and weakness for any company that fails to read the signals that the market throws. Reference declining UNIX market share.
