Never hurts to learn something new or confirm what I heard. Don't need to be a trader as it helps investors to know what traders are thinking for establishing my resistance and support levels.

Rebalancing would be my guess but I would not have asked if I knew what YOU meant.

Who is a trader? Let us say that there is a forecast that stocks will collapse by 50% over the next year. Even a long term holder may want to understand what is behind the forecast and potentially take defensive actions. Nobody owns stocks forever. If we live long enough every company stagnates for long periods of time. Even the mighty Microsoft went stagnant for 15 years!
