Craig,

You did bring up a few points which I think I agreed with already. If the economy slows or if there are outside influences which affect this market then it will have an effect on CSCO's ability to make earnings. My contention with you is one thing and one thing only.... that is, you point to Cisco's inability to deliver on promises - not on outside factors. Then you point to outside factors as the reason this stock will tumble. Make up your mind.

Even so, given Cisco's inability to deliver on promises (your point of view) and existing outside factors like Asia, Cisco IS leading their market and growing market share. They have had a high valuation due to their perceived...No.. make that REAL... dominance of the market. If either of these factors change (ability to deliver, or the oversea's markets "get well") it only gets better my friend not worse. The picture you paint is worse case.. Bottom line, CISCO does not disappoint which is why they hold a high valuation (regardless of your ranting that numbers are lowered). Investors see Cisco continuing to dominate and that's why they're putting their money here.

As for John's cockiness - what did he say that made you think he's cocky? The market asks him for his views on the future and he provides them with his views. I guess since he's not saying the company is going to tank and that earnings will be off, that makes him cocky. Well pardon John for being bullish on the company he runs. Shame on him.
