Hi, Jim. I am sorry it took so long to answer your message of last Wednesday. In any event, I have read several articles now about Julia Hiatt Steele's coming forward to say Kathleen Willey urged her to lie, and it still does not make sense to me, because (1) Willey was a long-time admirer of Clinton, (2) she apparently enjoyed the groping incident in the Oval Office, (3) she was a reluctant witness who came to the attention of Paula Jones' attorneys only because she was unfortunate enough to run right into Linda Tripp after the incident.

While it may be overblown to suggest that Steele is some sort of Clinton operative who was come forward to lie, nothing else makes sense to me yet in regard to this little substory.

Convoluted? Yes, I thought the Washington Post article was a little convoluted, and this is the most twisted part:

The talking points from Lewinsky instructed Tripp to tell Jones's attorneys,
"You now do not believe that what she [Willey] claimed happened really
happened. You now find it completely plausible that she herself smeared
her lipstick, untucked her blouse, etc."

Does Clinton's legal team believe it is plausible we would all believe this explanation of the events that day? I think Willey's testimony is somehow very damaging to them, potentially, perhaps because her husband was blowing his brains out while Willey was at the Oval Office that day. However, the timing of his suicide seems to be totally coincidental. Maybe it is because the groping was work related?
