He can claim Hamas is still a threat forever, right?
No doubt he'll claim that, and his cronies who want to build settlements in the disputed areas will back him up on those claims.

After a while, however, those claims won't hold much sway over the public.

As for the length of this war, you can claim it's because Net-N-Yahoo wants to wage a forever war in order to maintain power.

I claim it's because Israel is slow-rolling the war in order to try and minimize civilian casualties (or at least make the appearance thereof).

Two things can be true at the same time.

Either way, this war has been going long enough, IMO. Israel already succeeded in the Bakhmutization of Gaza. Just wrap it up and declare "Mission Accomplished."

Prolonging the war won't make one difference whatsoever. Hamas will still live on, especially in the hearts and minds of both the terrorists and the Harvard sophists. We have to deal with it.
