Eliot A: I'm not talking fruit of any kind, and I'm not quite sure how you read my post to suggest that good fundamentals beget good technicals.

But, I disagree that CANSLIM is purely fundamental, and if you treat it as such, you'll perform poorly.

My point was I've never seen OBV and MF divergences that one could play in CANSLIM stocks. Slow stochastic and 3/7/10 EMA crossovers, however, occur at great entry points on CANSLIM stocks. I'm currently using them with great success. IBD's A/D ranking is a critical factor in CANSLIM. If there's another A/D, I don't know about it, and don't care to learn it.

Is this why ONeal talks about the "cup and handle" pattern in his book that documents his CANSLIM approach to the stock market? Lets not forget about his relative strength (RS) ranking which is another technical concept thatis a key element in his strategy.

Actually I think you will find that his book talks about both fundamental and technical topics as part of his market strategy. Its one of the few approaches that does. This book is very inexpensive. I recommend this book as required reading to anyone involved in the market.
