[News, Feb 19] Intel, Samsung Pact

SEOUL, Feb 19 (Reuters) - Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, the
flagship unit of South Korea's Samsung Group [SAGR.CN], said on
Thursday it was negotiating ways to expand cooperation with
Intel Corp, the world's largest microprocessor manufacturer.
"Topics in the negotiations include a capital injection by
Intel, a stable memory supply by Samsung and others," said a
Samsung spokesman. "But the talks with Intel are at their
initial stage."
Intel already has a 10 percent stake in Samsung Austin
(Texas) Semiconductor Inc, Samsung Electronics' subsidiary in
the United States.
The group's auto unit Samsung Motors Inc was also tapping the
possibility of a capital injection by Ford Motor , Samsung
said.
The motor company said the talks with Ford would be concluded
before September.
