Dave,

thanks I didn't know - I'll pick it up, Byte Mag is an old classic :-).

I talked to some local RATL representatives the other day and got some information.

I asked about the rumoured deal between RATL and Ericsson (where Ericsson supposedly should buy all their future tools from RATL) and got the answer: "Can't comment on it, but there will be an official press release shortly". Well, since there will be an official press release it's not all smoke...

Also I got some information on future updates to Rose'98. A future version will be tightly integrated with Microsoft Developer Studio, where it will be very easy to navigate between Rose the modeling tool to any of the development environments in Studio (C++, Java or Visual Basic), and iterate between these different "views" of a program (the visual model and the actual code). And some of the UML features I have been complaining about not being there are being implemented right now, such as activity diagrams (which are a must to do serious business modeling), and will be released as an update to Rose'98 later this year. Sounds good.
