I've not heard of this company before, but here's what I found on what the product buys CSCO (at the bottom). It looks like the product that they bought actively monitors CSCO switches and CSCO routers only - using the developer's proprietary software. I can't tell if it acts as a firewall to those devices (their operating systems) only, or if it acts as a firewall to intranet/internet networks like CHKPF. Sounds like the latter - we'll see. And if it is, that confirms the fact that the Century software firewall acquisition was a bust for CSCO. I talked to a source the other day who confirmed that regarding Century. Still, the PIX solution from CSCO is a true firewall - but a hardware solution.

Bought some more at 40 this morning.

The deal, worth an estimated $124 million, gives San Jose,
Calif.-based Cisco access to security technology designed to
catch hackers at switches and routers. Cisco said it plans to
leverage this technology in its forthcoming "active audit"
intrusion detection feature, which is expected to become the
next element in the company's security architecture.
