I love all these negative sentiments! This is, therefore, the best time to buy this stock!

FYI,

Intel may be good at building processors, but what about Flash? I recently heard that Intel sold around $800M in Flash in 1997 .... ... and lost nearly $100M on Flash. Their market share has dropped over 4% and their Flash sales continue to slide.

As a result of their slide, they cancelled plans for a Ft. Worth fab dedicated to Flash production, and the planned Israel Fab changed from a Flash Fab to a Logic Fab. In addition, the Flash division of Intel has been through several Vice Presidents. The latest VP wants to convert the aging Alburquerque Fab from a Logic Fab to a Flash Fab. Most analysts agree this is not trivial.

Most of Intel's Flash devices are on a 0.4um and 0.6um process. And they are struggling to achieve performance parity with AMD. Nearly all of AMD's Flash devices are built on a 0.35um process and moving to a 0.25um process.

Remember when Intel tried to move a Flash process back in 1995. Remember the great Flash allocation of 1995. Did you know a customer who received the infamous letter from Intel? "We suggest that you qualify other sources as we cannot guarantee supply." I saw the letter. What kind of cookie cutter strategy were they using back then?

Jean,

>>INTC is NOT a spectacular technology leader, BUT, and it's a big BUT<<

Technology? Just where DID the 8080,8086,8088,80286(brain dead),80386,80486,pentium (and family) come from? Were these 'copied' from a source I do not know of? Or does the Intel technology get copied by others?

Just curious?

Regards,

Ken
