Borland needs to post a operating profit with the combined company (VSGN+BORL) in this quarter and I think it will. There are many GA expenses that can be cut through the combined company.

But the vote doesn't even take place until Feb 27. I don't see how any significant savings from combined operations can take place in the third month of the quarter. I wouldn't expect those until the following quarter.

Shroder,

What concerns me is that the G&A savings will not truly be realized for a Qtr or two.

Schroder:

I think this is quarter or really partial quarter of BORL+VSGN is interesting because it will be yet another test of Mr. Yocam's abilities.

The Old BORL has faltered at precisely the times they tried to swallow another company.

The street will be watching to make sure that this time is different. And we hope it is!

I think they will turn a profit as well. Miniscule profit but that would be my guess.

It would be fantastic if BORL can continue its string of beating expectations even if it is only by a few cents (I don't consider those huge %gains off a small base as being tremendously significant.).

For me, my focus will be on the enterprise deals - how many, how much.

G&A expenses will be important but I do not think we will see the effect of reduced G&A spending until later on in the year.

The gold here is the momentum in the enterprise. If BORL can show that it is sustaining and ideally quickly building the momentum in this arena, we are golden.
