Tektronix Lands Upgrade Deal for Seven Networks
Tektronix [TEK] is taking its experience in supplying digital components for television newsrooms down under as it provides key components for Australia's Seven Network's digital newsroom upgrade.

Slated for completion by the end of the month, with an on-air date shortly after that, the initial installation will include a 60-seat Tektronix NewStar news automation system with prompting and archiving software.

The upgrade will use fiber channel technology, and include a fully mirrored Tektronix Profile video file server, replacing the Betacart tape playout system; a Tektronix EditStar nonlinear editing system; and a Tektronix Grass Valley compact 7000HD routing system.
