A badger eh?

It was built in the 1860's and a second room was added in the 1945ish era.

Standing seam barn like roof.

Strong building built in a barn like fashion huge boards.

It was the first school in the Herman Township. Authorized to be built for $350.00. Wisconsin gained its statehood in 1848. I'm guessing it was a community effort, much like barn building was. The old farm house across the street served as a school before that. After having 16 students the year before, it was deemed necessary to build a separate building.

Yes it was a money pit, but now it looks very nice with all ne modern electrical, plumbing and windows. It took me 8 summers of non stop work to get it completed.
