Hi John,

This house was built in 1967.

The Cedar siding has been replaced twice as well as the roof. All new windows were replaced twice as well.

It's now getting a Hardy board exterior and metal standing seam roofing .I did that on my Houston home and it has weathered many a hurricane in fine fashion.

All of the batten insulation has been removed and a spray in type will replace it, sealed with a vapor barrier in between the drywall and insulation.

Very tight and eliminates bugs and mice as the weather turns cold.

I have been doing the demo myself.

Unbelievable how many bugs and rodents have lived in the winters over the last 57 years.

I have gutted the entire lower floor and I have not found a thing that I regret removing.

I started removing the plaster last fall. One day I was watching the computer and my wife screamed like bloody murder. A 36 inch fox snake fell from the ceiling! It apparently found a way in and ate mice during the winter. They are a constrictor type of killer.

That freaked both of us out!

Bob
