Albert Einstein was an immigrant.

Your faulty premise is that people are fungible.

Let's review the bidding. I-node has often said that illegal immigrants "take jobs from Americans." I have at least twice challenged his premise on practical and logical grounds (as I have made a career out of doing). In this case the argument was that it is extraordinarily unlikely that some American will get fired or laid off so that his slot can be filled by some random illegal immigrant. I came upon an article that spoke to the question so I posted it to him thinking it might be of interest.

I have expressed no premise on this subject other than what is underlined above and I did so before you showed up here. So just where did you find said faulty premise of mine?

While I never used the word, fungible, to i-node in our earlier discussions, his assertion that I countered assumes that people are fungible--fire a generic American worker so as to fill his position with an illegal. Doesn't get more fungible than that. So how can that charge be on me?

A negative value criminal invader is quite different from a baby born in the hospital who turns out to be Albert Einstein, or Irwin Jacobs or Andrew Carnegie.

That invader may come with small kids or produce a baby born in a hospital while here. What's to say that those kids will not turn out to be "Einstein?" It's a crap shoot for both invaders' kids and American kids.

The ratio of predators and parasites to Albert Einsteins matters.

Predators? The cohorts in this conversation are illegal immigrants and their offspring as well as American workers and their offspring. Predators could come from any of those cohorts. Likewise parasites. Unless you're talking about i-node's takers of American jobs, were they not a figment, as predators.

If sheer numbers mattered, Pakistan, Nigeria and India would be super duper. They are not.

No clue what the population of those or any three foreign countries has to do with anything.
