Rod, This would have been a good post if you were able to leave the jabs out..But, thanks for the explanations.. I know you're a pro when it comes to sys. and language..(code) However, My understanding is, all utility software works off the dos sys. Win 95 included..I am able to completely delete files by getting into the registry of my system..However, after the Monica Lewinski affair I may still have information floating around..I now use Clean Sweep (QDEK) to delete files because it's easy.. I only have to go to one place..In a word utility software sells because it provides [convience] for people with limited time..I have BD installed and have no problems with the software..It works..I did see it at ZD net, you may want to try a download..(oh forgot one disk)..The BD program is really small takes up very little space on your HD..I down loaded a program recently called Speedy Net..Don't recall mfg. name. It more than doubled my net speed it worked..a great free program..However, like most software and even you have to agree they have glitches because its trying to convert your sys. beyond the limitations of the sys. On that program it screwed up my Real Audio file because they used the same IP address. In other words I can't run both at the same time. The sys. Smart Files Skiba is discussing may use some of the basic elements of BD however, they operate completely different. I see no problem with fluid files especially if you are able to keep your most used files active and seldom used files in a storage area..You can accomplish that with Multi drives and not with single drives.. Thats my .02 cents worth.. Understand I can't even write metrics..
