Lots of possible explanations for this consulting contract. My best guess is that Barbier is being called upon to give depositions and otherwise assist the company in various legal and regulatory matters and that he and/or his lawyers — still pissed by his being summarily dismissed without so much as a “thank you for your past contributions blah, blah blah” — petulantly insisted that, despite his generous severance package, his personal time be compensated. The company rolled its collective eyes and said: Fine.
