Is the pill called ProBan? We finally gave up on the collars because they just didn't work. We also chose a topical ointment which is supposed to be absorbed into the skin of the dog, however, I don't recall it being a preventative to ticks. The product is called--Advantage and is put out by Bayer (the same people who make the aspirin). It comes in a small plastic tube about an inch in length, and the whole tube is applied. It says to apply it to the neck area also, but we divide it up and put it on different area's of Bear's skin, especially where his tail connects to his hindquarters. This product works, but must be applied monthly.

In case no one has noticed, I enjoy talking about Bear. (Come to think of it, I enjoy talking, periode.<g>)
