First off, Nanometrics is NANO. I own that company since more than two years. I own JMAR since one week. NANO has a very conservative management (who owns more then 65% percent of the stock). It has lots of cash and I actually proposed to their VP and to the thread that they buy JMAR. They are into optical inspection of wafers, flat panels and DD heads. I think their management is far superior to JMAR, they have the money (which JMAR scrambles to collect; the problem with warrants and Reg-S are the WORST). There is something I can not explain: if JMAR has such great ideas, why can not they attract money ? This country has lots of money, chasing great ideas. Maybe their ideas are not so great after all ... Or not feasible.

Second off: did you guys think about the HUGE amount of SHORTS on this stock ? It is like 6.5 times the average volume. So many people bet AGAINST JMAR. Now, it is true that if the company succeeds, the price will dramatically increase.

In conclusion: the market is very skeptical on JMAR. I consider my investment as a gamble. I can afford to lose it. But what if ...

In the end: how did JMAR fare at the recent conference in New York ? Looks like they did not knock the socks off.
Good luck to all,
Dan
