I read the thread daily, with some exceptions. I monitor and police as required.

I personally do not have the will to sit and monitor every post and keep the conversation civil as most don't either, a couple of individuals who actually do not post here often either want the position. Post meaning actual conversation. Sure - that's why moderators should also depend on feedback from other members and act on that as appropriate. This is perhaps even more effective, it is terrible for someone to be obligated to read every single post. That is asking a lot. The problem arises when the moderator has a large(?) number of board posters on ignore so that such communication is impossible. While I appreciate FJB's posts, from other posts on the matter, I believe that he has many posters on ignore - me included. Woody (and others in the past) posted similar opinions. For me, perhaps he doesn't appreciate my humor and observations or he doesn't like me or - for most that he has on ignore - he wants to preemptively keep the number of private messages to a minimum. I figure the latter (I don't think that I've ever sent him a PM) but sometimes I'm too nice when assuming motives - who knows. However if there is a problem with another poster, I would like to be able to communicate with the moderator, after all even if every post is read, not all conflicts can be recognized, feedback is good. GZ can be a bit rambuncious at times, but like Trump I think he can control himself and be responsible.
