One segment hated Stalin and his regime for very good reasons, and the other segment hated Hitler and his Regime, also for very good reasons. When Ukraine broke away from the USSR in August 1991, it wanted to remain a Neutral Country. Like Switzerland for example. Unfortunately it was never given that opportunity as the war mongers, that you so obviously support, make sure it never stayed Neutral for long.
