Buying individual Japanese co. stocks on American exchanges

Does anyone have an opinion about the wisdom of building a portfolio of Japanese blue chips traded on Nasdaq, etc.? Lots of big Japanese co.'s are listed -- Sony (SNE), Sharp (SHCAY), Matsushita (MC), Fujitsu (FJTSY), Kirin (KNBWY), Nintendo (NTDOY), Kyocera (KYO), and so on.

Has anyone done this? Is this the time to jump in to Japanese stocks? Is there any way to do a "Dogs of the Nikkei" (Nikkei no Inu?) portfolio? Where would the data be found?

Thanks to all who respond,
Justin

If you expect Nikkei goes to 14K to 15K range, you should not buy MBK now. Wait until the range then buy it.
