Inode,
If you think privately held company has a meaningful "market cap", I'd you're not qualified to comment on the subject.
I'm more qualified than you will ever be, Inode.

I'm in the startup scene. Most of the companies in this space are pre-IPO. Most of them won't even reach IPO. The valuation of these companies is VERY important when it comes to funding, investments, stock options, etc.

It's obviously not an exact science, which is why we have people with MBAs figuring this s--t out.

As for Xitter, maybe you can tell me how the company is currently worth more than the $44B that the Muskperger paid for it.

- Is it due to its declining revenue?

- Is it due to its complete and utter lack of profitability?

- Is it due to the brand recognition that the Muskperger killed by renaming the company "X"?

No matter what, Xitter is NOT doing a far better job than before.

If it is, then maybe you can find me an investment firm that is willing to buy shares in the company, if it values itself at $44B or above.

Bottom line is that you really have NO idea how all of this works.

Which means one thing, of course. Go buy shares in DJT. CEO Devin Nunes is counting on "retail investors" like you to carry that company forward, LOL ...

Hey CPA guy, what's with this?

X in talks to raise money at $44B valuation — same price Elon Musk paid to buy Twitter: report (NYPost)

But that can't be! X is a privately-held company, which means it has no meaningful "market cap!"

A qUaLiFiEd cPa told me himself!
If you think privately held company has a meaningful "market cap", I'd you're not qualified to comment on the subject.
Now I'll wait while you change your tune, from "No one can value a privately-held company!" to "Musk is a genius! He got investors to value X at $44B, which means expectations are for a doubling in value!"

*cough* *cough* conflict of interest *cough* *cough* ...
