You believe Musk has single-handedly "saved free speech."Give me a break. All he did was turn Twitter from a left-wing echo chamber into a right-wing echo chamber. It, like all social media, is a self-selected echo chamber, just like the one we are communicating on. Nature of the beast. You think Facebook isn't an echo chamber? It's all good until someone responds honestly to a Democrat's post about politics. Seems they can all dish it out but none can take it. I've yet to put anyone here on ignore for politics, and neither have I deleted anyone from FB or Twitter for that reason. But I've been deleted by many, many at both places -- some I've known for 60 years because I responded to something they said in a way they didn't like. So, on FB, and all the others, they all become echo chambers at some point. I can recall the same things happening on Usenet, Compuserv and Prodigy over the years. Before that, on BBSs. I have never worried about that shit and I'm not starting now. I find very little intellectual ability in those who lean left, with few exceptions. But I question it when someone abruptly adopts leftist positions after being a hard-nosed rightest for a number a years. Something happened that caused that. Were you to leave the left coast, you would find most of the country is not like that.

It cost him a lot of dough, but it changed the direction. He had the balls to stand up to government, and had investigators come in and find that government agencies had meddled in our election processes. Substantially. Illegally. Outrageously. He has publicly criticized on X.com and elsewhere the stupidity of the DEI agenda. As well as woke-ism, and many other key social ills like Affirmative Action and Reparations for gods sake. Just totally fucking stupid concepts. And as a result these things are spooling back down from the national forefront. I cannot attribute this fact to anyone else. Can you?
