I remember some used to argue with me in 2000 that AMAT was such a better company than LRCX.... yet it took 6 or 7 years LONGER than LRCX to pass its 2000 bubble peak.

I owned both and took a ton of profits in both but during the bubble deflation, I put more into LRCX than AMAT...

and more recently, AMAT has offered GREAT value as its scorching was so severe, I bought some shares for my ROTH when it had a 4.0% yield!

Great stocks to have core positions in but you make a lot more trading the volatility around the core positions.
