There was a riot and they were not prepared to deal with as a result of Pelosi's incompetence and intentional behavior. No police officer was seriously injured. You are a disgrace Node. The January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol left many police officers with PTSD and other mental health issues: Four officers who responded to the attack died by suicide within seven months. The deaths of these officers, along with the death of Howard C. “Howie” Liebengood, led to the creation of the Public Safety Officer Support Act. This act provides death benefits to the families of officers who die by suicide after a traumatic event, and makes it easier for officers with work-related PTSD to access disability benefits. He covered it in detail in his book. Basically, because Pelosi didn't do her job.
