Trump is pursuing his own agenda, he is not an altruist wanting common good. This should become very apparent shortly after he does the power grab. I expect his supporters to be disappointed in the first 100 days.
He will probably cause a recession and press Powell to drop rates back to zero while printing money. The dollar will drop and inflation will go back up. It will be interesting to see what he does to bipartisan chips act
aimed to bring semiconductor manufacturing jobs home to USA. Intel is likely to die without chips act funding.
Funny how he is anti green with the exception of green Musk’s Tesla. Trump likely wants interest rates to drop
hard for the purpose of shoring up his real estate holdings which were negatively affected by higher mortgage rates. Commercial properties will have to be reset to higher rates soon. I don’t think he can realistically do much at this point since 10 year rates are affected by US sovereign borrowing and budget deficits, but we shall see. Much of the federal spending is mandatory and USA pays 1 trillion a year in interest alone
