An altruist would fail for sure.

Yeah, after a bubble (and a series of bubbles) things can collapse and turn real bad.

There is a history here since Trump was already President for 4 years and inflation did not rear its ugly head as a result of his tariff policies during his first administration.

I am not a tariff fan, but if you could explain how these tariffs benefit Trump's businesses, along with creating a recession, I am all ears.

If anything, I would be watching the Biden Administration over the final two months to see if they reduce fiscal spending dramatically in order to cause a recession for Trump when he first gets to power.

The first bit of data to look at in that regard is weekly jobless claims.
