Novell Has to Get a Thin Client Strategy for Windows

I got my Hydra beta - Known as Windows NT 4.0 Terminal Server last month and installed the thin client beta from Citrix call Picasso. Set up was easy and the power of centralized management and client administration is appealing for certain environments. No it is not for everyone or every application but it has a place in just about every corporate environment - In other words it will quickly be come a required feature for your basic NOS. You have to be able to run Windows on a thin client.

You run all the windows apps in a memory space on the server and just paint screens and take keystrokes from the clients. DOS and 16 bit windows users can thus run 32bit apps off the server. I won't bore you will all the details tonight...

Novell desperately needs a thin client solution that will allow you to run windows applications. This component is quickly becoming a standard feature for NOS systems. They can strike up a deal with Citrix too if they want as far as I know.

In a market that often compares IntraNetware with NT it seems they should seriously consider matching this feature set. In my opinion it is a feature that many environments will have an affinity for.

So Novell - Whats the response to NT Terminal Server. It must be a serious market because Citrix has a market cap over 2 billion dollars.
What is the plan?

Anyone got opinions?
