I wonder why Dogway-I-mean-Gateway isn't moving in tandem with Dell,

Maybe the market is smart enough to realize that if Dell is growing at 4 times the PC market rate, then somebody is going to be growing at less than the market rate.

On another note, Robert M. Spears files a 144 on 2/18 to sell 4000 shares of stock. Lots of insider sells, but no buys...there seems to be a trend developing here.

Drew,

IMO, CPQ stock rise is delayed by the uncertainties posed by the DEC meger. How this merger is effected to take advantage of the strengths of both companies remains to be seen. Also, this would appear to detarct from CPQ efforts to achieve an effective BTO process.

GTW is a takeover candidate whose BTO manufacturing processes and overall efficiency lag DELL by a significant margin. They perhaps would be best off if DELL took them over. Not that I think this is likely!
However, it is a possible. They are stronger in the small to medium size business arena and of course in the consumer market. Their recent thrust into the subzero market is interesting. I have doubts as to the effect of this move on their product margins.
