Larry, The valuation argument on a stock like Ascend is in my opinion weak. It's really about the growth, or more importantly the certainty of growth. You don't see these guys saying to short Cisco, they sell at 8x sales and 45x cash flow (check my #'s they're off the top of my head). These guys shorted w/ the trend, smart move, they made $$. But guys like this are not going to stay short as they start to feel the pain and the position moves against them. From where I sit the prospects for Ascend are getting brighter every day and paying 5x sales now and 43x cash flow now may look cheap down the road. (examples, CSCO, MSFT, AOL).
