I like that prediction of the write-up. (Akin also to the rising of the Phoenix from the ashes!)

----

The golden slipper: JBuilder
The Chariot: Java
The Prince: Enterprise Growth
The mice, helpers: BORL's Partners

Midnight: ???? (ideally none - perhaps War, Clinton's Problem...)
The 3 Not-so-beautiful Sisters: DCOM (pushing it), VB, non-extendible systems (pushing it).

(Or maybe the Prince will be a dashing suitor who also eyes the enterprise gravy train and who will pay up for BORL's expertise.)

----

Now will Cinderella when she turns Queen eventually help her friends out for supporting her from the evil persuasions and negative thoughts of others not so fond of Cindy's ambitions?

We hope Cinderalla does not forget us.

And I don't think she will.

---

(P.S. Alan Greenspan might chide us for "irrational exuberance"!)

Your enthusiasm and loyalty does you credit. The only problem with fairy tales is.... that's exactly what they are. Fairy tales.

The reality is that the company is in the middle of - not the end of - a turnround. They have their finances under better control, but they are moving into uncharted territory (for Borland), with a revamped product line, a new strategy and a bunch of people who haven't been there before either (enterprise software, that is.)

It will take more than wishful thinking to turn this pumpkin into a stagecoach.
