Sunday February 22, 3:45 pm Eastern Time New pacts to boost Check Point networking products REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Feb 22 (Reuters) - Check Point Software Technologies Inc (CHKPF - news) will announce plans on Monday to beef up its corporate network software product line, company executives said. The security software vendor will announce partnerships with Chrysalis-ITS Inc and Entrust Technologies Inc. Under the agreement, Check Point will sell its partners security products along with its own line, said Deb Triant, Check Point chief executive. Check Point also will unveil a plan to tie together three separate security products into one package, allowing customers to more easily set up secure communication lines over the Internet, the global public computer network. The moves are designed to make it easier for Check Point customers to set up so-called virtual private networks over the Internet, Triant said. A few years ago, companies that wanted to connect computer systems in far-flung operations would have to buy and run private telecommunication lines, an expensive solution. Now, they can use the Internet to do the same thing. By using sophisticated security software, companies can set up private communication paths on the public network. On Monday, Check Point will announce that it plans to include specialized hardware from Chrysalis with its security products, beginning in the second quarter. Chrysalis makes electronics that speed up the security functions of computer networks. Check Point also plans to use Entrust's security software, which ensures the identities of computer users. Later this year, Check Point wants to roll several of these separate products into one package, Triant said. More Quotes and News: Check Point Software Technologies Ltd (Nasdaq:CHKPF - news)
