While SI may have gotten its start back in the day as an investment message board platform, those days are long gone. It has evolved into a primarily non-investment-related Politics and hobby message board platform, by a factor of over 7:1, based on the message counts shown in SI's three categories. I was an early adopter of the switchover. Not totally unrelated to my observation of how Alta Vista went poof! Too many behind the scenes things going on in tech and finance to waste time analyzing stocks. Was stunning to hear from Marc Andreesen about the behind the scenes stuff on AI recently.
