The following is an excerpt from a friend. It does not however mean that CYMI will lose any market share. It does however offer a second choice. I personally believe as I have in the past that CYMI has surpassed the .18 line as described in this missive. I also believe that CYMI lasers in real semi fab applications are of course the only systems evaluated in the actual operating mode. That less than laboratory atmosphere that only the experienced thrive in. The key to CYMI's success is the service and support systems integrated within, or very near the end line user. That is the only qualifying performance test for any integral offering. That being said the less than threatening comparison studies will not be available for some time. Years I believe. Than again my Dad always drove Fords as that was his first experience..*G*...

BTW: COHR should do exceptionally well. SVGI seems to have qualified COHR
as supplier. Their laser seems to be the only one (as I seem to understand)
that enables 0.18 micron at KrF wavelength (248nm) due to lesser linewidth.
I have the impression that semi equip orders are normally placed up to
March. This means to me: CYMI is still the king THIS year. But next year
COHR should see significant inroads. This means to me: sell CYMI near $30
and switch into COHR. Moreover COHR will split soon. I feel the time is
ripe on this...

Well , I feel after the HOLD rating on COHR is digested it should fly. No real goos reason for that. Great earnings. I just don't feel it will ever be a threat. Their cash is in medical lasers and they will not wander from that. Lambda may very well outlive there value as a sub of COHR. As by the time they are viable as a small laser entry (by unit number) Cymer will have control over support and service in all the vital areas as well as new applications for even smaller lines.
