Yes, good to watch the Bill Browder video again as a refresher on doing business with the Russians.

But business is done with the Russians. My Domain & Hosting Service is based in the USA but the employees are all Russian. It had the Ukraine Flag up with a message expressing support to all the friends and relatives in Ukraine. I guess that rang true for all concerned.

Yes I very much expect China is the same. The Bill Browder story is sad, he delivers it well though, throws in a bit of humour.

Just like any living environment there needs to be a hierarchal food chain. Good business demands that there is, otherwise no customers to sell to.

UK North Sea fish stocks, indeed all the UK coastal waters, can support a food chain that can produce millions of tonnes of fish a year and still grow overall. If the marine environment was allowed to develop correctly. Sadly no such national control (unlike Iceland) is in place, it's over fished and the place is now a marine equivalent of the Sahara Desert. 20 years is not a big deal really in getting an economy or fish stocks back on track.

Same with both USA and UK economies.

When I started out as an Engineer, I saw a TV program on China where they were still making steam engines to move both passengers and freight. There was talk of them "modernising". This was the 1980's. They have managed to progress since then.

We could return the complement. Rather then us be changed into starving commies working 24 hours a day, people in other countries could see a rising living standard.

I buy stuff straight from China routinely now. Ali Express. Amazing quality and Service. You get what you pay for. If it's cheap low quality stuff you want, they can supply. Quality stuff, same story.

Traceable Electrical Standards used to be pricey before China came along. I recently bought a dozen standards as I didn't have faith in the traceability, they were just a few bucks each, and checked them all out. Amazingly consistent. I am not sure what I am calibrated too, but I am calling it the Chinese Volt.
