There are ways to get a completely wireless internet connection to the internet. Most of the US, all major cities, is now covered with a cellular-phone LIKE service (but separate and distinct from cellular phones) to support wireless networking, and you can buy PC Cards that go into a PCMCIA slot and which connect to the internet through these links. I think you are talking about big bucks for the service fees, however.

I don't have any specific names to give you, but if you are seriously interested, there is a guy at work who is knowledgeable about these, as some of our products, which normally require a network connection, use and support these types of connections.
