Eric, Data center buildouts have been a concern of mine for years. Many have been built out in Eastern Washington State along the Columbia River to take advantage of our "very cheap" electrical power. It's not going to be cheap for long. If you really believe EVs are the future, then we need to build out more electric power generation. Why else do you think Three Mile Island of all places is being restarted? <<and how will we power them?>> Easy Peazy. You get rid of 90% of the requirement. Cancel the Patriot Act and all the paraphernalia that goes with it. At a stroke we would be getting more competitive with China, etc, etc, and not piing money, effort, talent, and importantly time** away. Allow citizens to live private lives, without all the surveillance. It used to be that way, and it would make the citizens happier, and more loyal to the State. That would get rid of most of the bs surrounding the need for "A.I." Review what demand (products, services, sans surveillance State) is likely to be in the future, and arrange a copious supply of that. 20 years from now the country would be cashing in and USA citizens will be sporting $1000 bills in their hat bands. How much CO2 would that save?? What did you think of Sabine btw, isn't she a charmer? Really knows stuff and isn't afraid to ask the right questions. I watched the previous linked video btw... If you know anything about Entropy, you will understand the weight behind the argument. but that is just for openers.
