Mark, correct me if I am wrong, do you use ADX to enter and exit a trade on the same day? What period(s) do you use with it.

I'm going to have to agree with Lizard on the ADX, etc. as indicators not being utilized much by traders......for daytraders that is. But for in and out position trades (I consider those "trades" as well....position trades) lasting a few days to a week or so, I must say that the most important moving averages are just a few of many indicators that are used along with SRoC, Ultimate Oscillator, RSI, and other oscillators. I find the standard (the ones everyone else uses) oscillators especially useful in determining exit points. I find others indication such as Fibs. constant-plotting sometimes useful in determining target prices as well.

I find Candlesticks very very helpful as well with position trades(send me a line on your use of Candlesticks...I think I can make you a believer if you are not already one Mark. <G>).

PS:...As time has passed over the last two years...especially the last 7 months, I find my percentage of "trades" are becoming more daytrades than position trades. A quality on-line broker and level II are two tools that have made this so. An ongoing bull market has helped also.;-) Cash is nice at the end of the day. At the moment I only hold 2 stocks as long term investments....and I hold 3 mutual funds....let those guys do the legwork for the fundamentals.
