George- What would the features that they take out of the 8 post switch to make it so cheap. Anything that effects the performance? Wasn't it Brenda C. who recently said that the ultra SCSI,fire wire and the high end SCSI market were going to be used by those few who had painted themselves into a corner with SCSI.It seems that the lower port switch is more directed to battling Adaptec then Ancor. Brocade targeting another market? Seems like Brocade is positioning themselves somewhere between ANCR and Adaptec-Take on Ancor in the high end to get the bulk of the FC-AL switches leaving Ancor the very high end niche and then going after Adaptecs high end SCSI products leaving Adaptec products to sell their higher end products lower on the food chain.
