"TRUST THE SCIENCE!"

Whose science?

I can't believe the numbers of people a few years ago who shouted, "Trust the science." Or, variations of that such as, "The science is set," or "The science is clear."

No, it isn't. Science is always about questioning and testing. Science stops when anything is accepted as set in stone.

This reminds me of a truism that came out of the "counter culture" movement of the 60s and 70s - "Question authority."
