I agree. The .25 ~ .35 that JTO forecasted precludes additional VGM expansion, right? If it is NOT banned, these numbers *could* be way low. Maximum political points are scored for political brinkmanship, but in the end it will be awfully hard to turn down all that free money.

I agree that SC will not ban video gaming. As an SC resident, it seems that the momentum is slowly tipping into the video operators favor. They have started a TV ad campaign and those sitting on the fence seem to think that it is crazy to give up $60M in tax revenue. The video operators are pushing for another referendum this November. Their new slogan is "Let the people decide". Senator John Land has promised to filibuster the state budget if it includes a ban on video poker. I believe that a referendum will be held in November as it is an election year and congressmen would love an easy way out of this. IMO the gaming industry would win a hard-fought battle.
