Not only did the back of his head hit the wall but most of his brains. Even though they were not in the bullets path, the pressure blew his eyes out.

Taht's pretty much what happened to Bud, the guy in Pennsylvania. Caponata, anyone?

Yes I remember that picture, I don't think the frame was massive enough to be a .357, maybe a .38. It doesn't matter because in that picture the guy's head is bulging with the bullet about blow the far side of his head away.

6 cats, I saw the whole film of the shooting and can tell you two things for a fact: It was definitely a .357 magnum (maybe it was downloaded) as told to me by friends I know who witnessed the shooting and knew this general, and the bullet did not completely pass through the man's skull as you can see from the film.

I'm sorry to hear about your son's friend. A real tragedy to say the least. Consider the placement of the gun's muzzle and you'll see more the reason for the damage as described than the size of the bullet. The pressure of the muzzle blast in proximity to the sinus cavities had much to do with the damage to the skull vs a bullet entering the skull sans pressure from muzzle blast. And...one's eyes can be popped out rather easily I'm afraid-and put back in too. I knew a man who's wife rolled over in bed next to him and hit him just in the right spot with her elbow and knocked his eyeball out. Went to the E.R. where they popped it back in-sort of. His eyesight was fine afterwards.
