Good luck getting all out then back all in. Given the huge tax hit, it has never seen worth it for me to try other than the taking profits then buying back the big declines using cash in my ROTH. I've managed to convert plenty of growth into my ROTH IRAs so there is probably more incentive to try now. As for over capacity, I believe this current decline has been due to that for chips not at the bleeding edge of AI... Coherent, Nvidia and a handful of others are benefiting while most others have charts resembling Intel. I think you are right that eventually there will be a trade war with low-cost chips from China competing with Chips Act chips made in the US and elsewhere as these commodities always go into surplus. Calling the tops, or bottoms for that matter, isn't something I've seen anyone do successfully. The folks who thought using leverage to buy 3x SOXL have sure gotten a rude awakening. It is like they fell into a crevasse on the trail to K2. Those of us who buy and mostly hold the top names are far above our 2022 highs and not that far off our record highs, by comparison as we look down from Mars at the K2 climbers trying to exit the crevasse! Hopefully we can get to Pluto before the next major bear market!
