jbn3,

Regarding customer loyalty to Dell: IMHO, people who don't own Dell Computers don't have any idea how effective their service is. I bought my Pentium Pro with Windows NT 4.0 from Dell in Nov 96. Since then I have called Dell a couple of times regarding equipment compatibility and once when NT 4.0 crashed and I couldn't figure out how to recover. The people I talked to were polite and capable. They had a list of my hardware and software configuration available on-line to help me out. Once, I was reminded that I could upgrade my modem over the internet. I have also updated my BIOS via the Dell internet site. I suspect that few other companies could match this service. I'll go back to Dell for my next computer.
